Symons Valley Ranch Farmers Market.  It was more than just a business, it was a place where community came together.  It was more than just a group of business people.  It was a group of happy, caring people who love what they do.

As soon as you walk in the door, you were always greeted with smiles!  The Ladies at Bauer Meats were always cheerful and more times than not, you were greeted with a hug!  Now, what other market anywhere in the city can you go to, where you are greeted with hugs?  Simply amazing.

Of course, we all know about the fire that destroyed the buildings.  But, that is exactly the point.  The fire only destroyed the buildings.  The Market is more than just the buildings.  The market is the people.  The people of the Symons Valley Ranch Farmers Market are still going strong.  They are determined to carry on.

Its a group of family businesses who treat their customers like family.  Stop by Shirley’s amazing tomatoes and chat with Dawn about farm life and her greenhouses.  Wander over to Walker’s Own fresh fruits and vegetables and see what is happening in BC.

Then there is the chocolate stand!  Sue from Wicked Chocolates had to take her business online only recently.  We will miss her smiling face at the market, not to mention the fabulous chocolates.

We could go on, the Vendors are all amazing people.  It always took me hours to go through the market, not only because of the wonderful products, but because of visiting with all the Vendors.

The Symons Valley Ranch itself has an interesting history.  It’s been a landmark since 1968.  Many people have lots of memories revolving around these buildings.

Already they are having a popup market every second Saturday.  There are plans in the works to rebuild our landmark building.  We are looking forward to seeing the new market buildings in the near future.  Until then, we will support our great vendors however we can.
