Hi everyone! The last few times I wrote, I was in Europe. Germany to be exact. Now I’m coming at you from South America, Ecuador.
Travelling and moving around can be hectic, but remember to keep your camera handy. You’ll kick yourself later if you leave it packed away the whole time. From the animals to the trees, from the food to the way people dress, there is so much to take in! Yes it can be overwhelming, that’s why, once again, it’s so important to have a goal clearly in mind. I know, I know, we’ve discussed this already, but that just shows how important goals are. Having clear in your mind what photos you want to take, you will find it easier to get those photos. Of course, things will happen and opportunities will present themselves that you didn’t expect, so like John Wayne in the Wild West, be ready for anything!
For a technical tip, if you are shooting with a DSLR, this means choosing a lens that will best suit your needs. Also have a backup ready to go. For me this means I’ve got my 50 1.8 mounted, since my goal is people shots right now. But, I’ve got my wide angle as a backup. Those two lenses are all I need for going out. Sure there’s nothing wrong with packing more, but personally I prefer a lighter bag, because, well I’m a wimp, and I prefer to attract less attention with a smaller pack.
Hopfully that helps you folks to get out there and start shooting, even when you are on the move! I’ll be checking up in a bit! 🙂
